Jungian Analysis

( wholeness & transformation )

Stephen Garratt, Jungian Analyst and psychotherapist.
I offer help with emotional and psychological difficulties. I offer online sessions to people seeking analysis and understanding. I work with people in London, Europe and Asia.

Therapy is a conversation that can change your life. Talking things through with your therapist can lead to new perspectives on your situation, an increased sense of personal choice, and a richer connection with yourself and others.

What's troubling you?

( your mental health )

Negative Emotions

Depression, loneliness, resentment, frustration, anger, and other feelings that you can’t shake-off can bend your whole life out of shape. Talking to a therapist could free you from the grip of powerful emotions.

Anxiety & Stress

In London many people struggle with fear of failure, work addiction, and office conflict. When you’re not coping, getting help is not weakness, it’s sensible. Therapy can help you regain confidence and help you build on your strengths.

Relationship Issues

Relationships can bring out the best of us, but they can also bring out the worst. A therapist can help you with difficulty finding and sustaining relationships, relationship conflict, separation, and bereavement.

Destructive Habits

Sometimes we do things that are bad for ourselves but we can’t stop doing them. Therapy can help you with disordered eating, negative body image, substance addiction, sex addiction, and other self-harming patterns.

Low Self-Esteem

If you think very little of yourself and expect that others have no time for you, then you might have low self-esteem. A therapist can help you discover the roots of your negative self-image and help you build a more realistic sense of self.

Personal Development

Are you ready for a change? Do you have a big decision to make? Are you feeling stuck? Therapy can help you see the way forward, and give you the tools to live your life to the full.

Stephen Garratt

( Jungian Psychoanalyst )

As a Jungian Analyst I believe each of us has an an inner healer that can guide us towards a deeper, more emotionally fulfilling relationship with ourselves, others and the world around us – if we are open to it. Inner work is tough work, but within the problem you are facing, no matter how bad, is an opportunity to grow.

I am an IAAP accredited Jungian Analyst and a member of the AJA. I have an MA in Psychodynamic Theory and Practice (Roehampton) and an Advanced Diploma in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy (WPF). I also have a Certificate in Supervision (SAP).

I am engaged in ongoing research and writing. I participate in peer support programmes and ongoing professional development to ensure that my practice affords the best informed care.

Beginning therapy

( the next step )

Asking for help is daunting. Changing is difficult, even if it is a change for the better. But taking the first step today means one less day struggling needlessly with bad feelings, psychological distress or difficult relationships.

Our first meeting will afford you a chance to talk freely about your situation and your feelings in a calm, comfortable, confidential setting. In this meeting you’ll also be able to explore how psychotherapy could help you before deciding to continue. The first session is charged at £115. You do not need to be referred by your GP. Your enquiry will be treated in strict confidence.

What is psychotherapy?

( talking leads to change )

Therapy is talking about, and reflecting on, your thoughts, feelings and relationships together with a therapist. Through therapy you become more aware of unconscious feelings and assumptions, which actually shape the way you feel about yourself and others, and which may cause negative patterns to repeat in your life

You’ll meet with your therapist once weekly (sometimes more frequently) at the same time on the same day each week. The regularity of appointments is an essential part of working with deep psychological dynamics. Making changes to your life through psychotherapy will require commitment. Lasting psychological change can involve many months, and often years, of weekly sessions.

Through therapy you can learn to know and value yourself better. The way you see yourself and the world could change for the better.

Meet online

( several international time zones )

My practice is an online practice. I work on video and voice call with people based in London, Europe and Asia.

Do you want to consult a Jungian analyst but have not been able to find an analyst close to where you live? Perhaps you do want to attend regular therapy session with a Jungian analyst but you travel too frequently to attend in person every week. In my experience Jungian analysis can work just as well remotely via internet connection or even telephone.

I have work using Zoom, WhatsApp and Line. I also have often worked with people using the telephone.

Jungian Supervision

( develop your practice )

If you are a practising therapist supervision with a Jungian analyst will help you develop you work with dreams, images and the subtle currents of the unconscious. I have worked in supervision with therapists from a broad range of backgrounds and modalities. I particularly enjoy working with therapists who are setting up in private practice for the first time.

Supervision is one of the secret delights of being a practising therapist. Every week I get to talk to someone whose work I admire and share with them all the excitements and difficulties of my work with patients. Weekly supervision is a creative, inspiring, playful even. I am always learning from my supervisor and developing my skills and understanding of depth psychology.

Supervision meetings are online. If you are interesting in attending supervision for your clinical practice with a Jungian analyst, please contact me.

Make an appointment

( online sessions )

The most challenging step in therapy is deciding to start. The moment that you decide to make your first appointment is the moment that your life takes a new direction.

I invite you to set up an initial appointment with me to tell me about yourself and find our how therapy can help you. At the end of the first appointment I will invite you to a second appointment a week later. This will give you time to reflect on whether therapy with me is right for you.

In the second appointment we will discuss the way forward and, if it works for you, schedule our ongoing regular appointments.

The initial appointment is charged at £115. The fee for ongoing appointments will be arranged between us in our initial meetings.
